One important part of the Shrine Project is making the Shrine Pictures accessible to people in all different parts of the world. One way that I am trying to do this is through large-scale murals. I created the first of these murals in 2015. The image is originally from a shrine in Itoshima, Japan. When I came upon the painting inside the shrine, the blue colors had almost completely worn away. This mural can be seen in West Reading, Pennsylvania, USA as part of the Cherry Street Mural Corridor, and I hope to create more like it going forward.
I also created a large mural in 2012 as part of the Hello Manga! exhibit at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London, Connecticut. The theme of that mural was A History of Manga.
